Church Planting & Community Outreach

To plant Christ-centered churches and bring Gospel transformation to unreached areas.

At a glance

The work at a glance.

Purpose Life plants simple, Christ-centred churches in villages that have never had a gospel witness. Teams share the good news, disciple new believers and gather them into churches led by people from their own community.

Many begin with a single household — like John’s family, whose home is now a house church where neighbours gather to worship.

What this includes

  • Fellowships that start in homes and under trees and grow into established congregations.
  • Whole households coming to faith together — and opening their homes for worship.
  • Local leaders trained from day one, so every church is locally led.
  • Each new church sent out to reach the next village.

Why it matters

Too many villages still have no church.

In rural Zambia and northern Mozambique, many villages are hours from the nearest congregation. Traditional beliefs, poverty and distance keep the gospel from families who have never heard it clearly.

When a church begins in a village it brings more than Sunday worship — it brings prayer, care for the vulnerable and a community that helps families stand.

Church Planting

A community revived

A handful of believers met under a tree with no building and no trained leader. Leadership training and pastoral coaching grew that fellowship into an established church with active ministries.

Church Planting

A church under a mango tree

Mwansa began gathering neighbours under a mango tree after evangelism outreach. With training and coaching the gathering became a church that serves the surrounding farms.

Church Planting

A home that became a church

John’s family followed traditional beliefs and had no assurance of salvation. When the No Place Left team came to their village, John trusted Christ — and soon his wife and children did too. Today their house is a house church where neighbours gather to worship.

Church Planting

Ten family members, one new church

Many in Rosemary’s family had never personally trusted Jesus. Through Discovery Bible Studies and the Commands of Christ, ten of her family members came to faith one by one — and together they now support the new church in their village.

Church Planting

Neighbours gather in Solomon’s home

Solomon’s family studied the Commands of Christ and the Church Circle together and came to faith as a household. Their home is now a house church where neighbours gather for prayer, Bible study and worship.

Church Planting

New believers, new village churches

Through No Place Left outreach, men and women across rural Zambia heard the gospel clearly for the first time — and now worship in churches planted in their own villages. Here are some of their voices.

“Today, our house has become a house church where neighbors gather regularly for worship, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship.”

Questions

Common questions about church planting.

How do you choose where to plant a church?

We go where there is little or no gospel witness — often after an invitation from a family or community leader. Prayer walking and conversations help us find people ready to hear.

Who leads a new church?

Local believers. We train leaders from within the village from the very beginning, so the church does not depend on outsiders.

Does a new church need a building?

No. Most begin in a home or under a tree. Some later build simple structures; many continue as healthy house churches.

How do you support churches after they are planted?

Through follow-up visits, leader training, Bibles and connection with other churches in the network.

Can I sponsor a church plant?

Yes. A gift towards a church plant funds outreach, Bibles, leader training and follow-up through the church’s first year.
