Before joining the programme, Richard describes himself as trapped in smoking and alcohol abuse. These habits had become part of his life, and they left him feeling empty and discouraged.
His struggle had reached a point where he needed more than a change in habits. He needed a new understanding of his life, and a different direction.
Encountering healing and forgiveness
Richard began attending Breathe Free, Grow Free and Trauma Healing lessons. Through them, he says, he experienced God’s love and forgiveness. The teaching helped him begin to see his life and his choices from a different perspective.
One of the most important lessons he took away was the value of living a healthy, Christ-centred life. For Richard, the programme became a place where spiritual teaching and personal transformation came together.
Breaking free from old habits
As he continued through the lessons, Richard made a significant change. By God’s power, he says, he stopped smoking and drinking — leaving behind the lifestyle that had left him empty and discouraged.
Richard does not describe this simply as overcoming two habits. He connects it to a deeper change in the kind of life he wanted to live: a life centred on Christ and guided by the teaching he had received.
A new chapter of faith
Richard’s journey continued beyond smoking and alcohol. He was baptized and joined the Baptist Church, becoming part of a community of believers.
For him, baptism marks another stage in his transformation — from the discouragement he knew before the programme toward a new identity rooted in faith.
Transformation that continues
Richard’s testimony traces a journey from emptiness and discouragement toward freedom, faith and community. The lessons introduced him to God’s love, forgiveness and a healthy, Christ-centred life. He stopped smoking and drinking, was baptized, and found a church family.
“I am grateful for the transformation God has brought into my life.”
