For Mary, life had become increasingly difficult under the weight of alcohol addiction. Alcohol had taken away her sense of peace and left her longing for something different.
Her struggle was not only about alcohol. At the heart of her story was a deeper need — for healing, and for restoration.
Discovering a path toward healing
Mary began attending Breathe Free and Trauma Healing lessons. Through them, she began to understand that God could heal broken hearts and restore lives. The teaching opened her eyes to the possibility of change, and to what it might mean to surrender her life to Christ.
That became her turning point. Mary chose to surrender her life to Jesus — and through that decision, she says, she received the strength to overcome alcohol.
Overcoming alcohol
Mary overcame her struggle with alcohol. But she does not describe it simply as giving up a harmful habit. In her own words, she became “a new person in Christ” — a change she understands as both recovery and faith.
A new beginning
Following her transformation, Mary was baptized and joined the Baptist Church. For her, belonging to a church family is part of the new chapter she is living.
The peace she once lacked is now something she associates with her new life in Christ. Her story moves from addiction and restlessness toward faith, community and a renewed sense of life.
A fresh start
Mary’s testimony is, at its heart, a story of restoration. Through Breathe Free and Trauma Healing she encountered teaching about healing, made a personal decision to follow Christ, found strength to overcome alcohol, was baptized, and became part of a church community. She describes it simply as a fresh start.
“Today, I am a new person in Christ.”
